Professional biography:

Bogdan Sumenko – is a Ukrainian political scientist. He has got 8 years of work at state agencies. He worked at the National Institute for Strategic Research of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine at the departments of international relations and home-policy studies.
He worked as the economic security expert at the group of companies DeVision where he was engaged in the analysis and detection of threats for the group’s activity and also the organization of the information and analytical support for the activity of the management at the group of companies.
He worked for NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy at the Department of Information and Analytical Support where was engaged in the analysis of tendencies in the global oil and gas markets, risks and opportunities for the main international energy players and also the verification of their business reputation and readiness for the cooperation with Ukrainian oil and gas companies.
He worked for Ukrainian Democracy Foundation People First. He dealt with the preparation and content management of the Foundation’s web-site, writing blogs and developing the cooperation with the European web-portal EurActiv. He studied the prospects of Ukraine’s participation in international integration projects, made the analysis of advantages and shortcomings of Ukraine’s European integration direction of development and prospects for Ukraine to take part in Russian integration projects.

Profession biography:

Roman Rukomeda – is a Ukrainian political scientist, expert on international, security and energy issues.
He has got 9 years of experience of work in civil service, working in the field of national security, first at the National Institute for International Security Problems at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He specialized in the issues of the interaction between international policy and security.
Working for NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy at the department of information and analytical support, he studied modern tendencies in oil and gas markets of the world, risks and opportunities for energy players. He participated in the preparation of documents on the issues of gas relations settlement, the development of reforming the direction of Ukraine’s oil and gas industry according to the EU legislation, the question of extracting shale gas in Ukraine. He was in the vanguard of those who encouraged discussions as regards the appropriateness of extracting shale gas in Ukraine.
He worked for 2 years for Ukrainian Democracy Foundation People First. He was the editor of the Democracy Watch weekly, coordinator of the work between the Foundation and the European information portal EurActiv, the author of many publications for the resource. He performed the analysis of the subject matter of international policy, national and information security, key tendencies in the energy field of Ukraine, Russia and at the global level.
Working at the National Institute for Strategic Research in the department of globalistics and security strategies, since 2013 he acted as the researcher of Ukraine’s political relations and the key global players; the political situation in the region of the Black and Caspian Seas; new energy trends in the world and their influence on Ukraine and the region of the Black Sea; international security questions.
The author of over 100 publications in Ukrainian and foreign papers, magazines and scientific collections.
